The Parent site contains vast amounts of information about the oranization as well as resources for churches, ministers, those involved with the individual churchs and "lay" people alike. Also offered is a wealth of resources designed to help us all along our own personal as well as collective, spiritual journeys.
Among many other things, the life experience of Unity co-found Myrtle Fillmore included long suffering from tuberculosis. After contracting the dread disease, she was not expected to live very long. With a desire to change her situation for the better, she began a study of spiritual healing. After some time, she began to use the principles she learned to improve her health through the power of positive prayer by affirming, "I am a child of God, and therefore I do not inherit sickness." With consistant, positive affirmation, and an intense belief in the ability of her body to heal itself, Myrtle did indeed cure herself of Tuberculosis. Unity is, in fact, largely based on this same power of positive prayer and affirmation.
