Our Board of Directors
President - Larry Breau
Larry is the President of the Board for Unity of London. Larry has also completed a term as President with Unity of London in the past and was President at Unity of Panama City, Florida years ago. Larry has been a student and proud member of Unity since 1998.
Larry was born in the old Victoria Hospital, just down the street from the present day Unity of London. He went to public school locally at Princess Elizabeth and high school at G.A. Wheable. Larry joined the military in 1978 and is now a retired Canadian Air Force Officer. Larry has a wife, Katherine, 3 children and 7 grand-children.
Past President - Wilda Thomas
Wilda Thomas is a long time Unity member who has served two previous terms on the Board as Member at Large, Treasurer and President.
She is entering her 10th year as Prayer Chaplain and co-chaired the Unity of London 25th Anniversary – Jazz Celebration.
She has owned Creative Art & Frame for over 30 years. One of her passions is organizing trips to museums and art galleries with the McIntosh Gallery Art & Travel Committee. Her next trip is to Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina in the fall of 2018. Aside from international travels, she enjoys hanging out at “home” on Manitoulin Island.
Wilda has a degree in Interior Design from University of Manitoba and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western.
Vice President - Tony Orvidas
In terms of a formal education, Tony has an interesting variety of degrees, diplomas and certificates - Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Municipal Administration, Long Term Care Management, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, the Silva Method, Achieve Supervisory Training, Therapeutic Touch, Transactional Analysis, and Motorcycle Rider Training. After a lifetime career in Social and Human Services, specializing in the management of Long Term Care and Retirement Homes, he is now semi-retired and living with his wife Bonnie in Port Stanley, Ontario.
He and his wife Bonnie have been active members of Unity of London since 2012. Tony has provided sacred service as a greeter, Sunday offering counter, platform assistant, and member of the Ministerial Search Committee. He has been our guest speaker on a number of occasions, and is currently serving on Unity of London’s Board of directors as vice president. He acts as the board liaison for marketing and sacred service
Secretary - Patti McDonald
Patti holds a Bachelor Degree of Science, an Honour Bachelor Degree of Arts in Physical Education, and a Bachelor Degree of Education. She has worked as a Supply Teacher, a Drape Fabricator, a Recreational and Personal Counsellor for Challenged Adults, and she has spent 30 years at the General Motors CAMI Assembly plant in a variety of roles. Patti's working career for General Motors will come to a welcomed end in early 2019 with retirement right around the corner.
Patti has always been deeply involved in recreational sports and volunteerism in her local community. She created the first co-ed recreation volleyball league in Woodstock back in 1985, and eventually expanded that to include a Women's Only league. Patti sat on the Big Sister's Board of Directors, the Woodstock Curling Club Board of Directors, and was a Board Member and President of the Woodstock Women's Fastball League for over 10 years. She now dedicates much of her volunteer time with a non-profit, 100%-Volunteer Run charity called Mother's with a Heart For Ethiopia.
With retirement closing in, Patti hopes to focus her energy on fine tuning her skills as a fine artist, and to complete her licensing for Unity Teaching through the SEE program. She is most excited that she will soon be able to devote much more time to her most joy-filled task -- working for Unity of London to continue to provide a thriving centre for spiritual growth, connection and community. One thing that is certain, Patti has a deep passion and love for her Unity Family.
Treasurer - Patty Keffer
Patty Keffer is the Treasurer of the Board for Unity of London. Patty has been a member of Unity for approx. 8 years. She has sung with the choir, is a platform leader and platform assistant and has recently become a Prayer Chaplain.
Patty works as a Financial Coordinator at a charity that helps the poor and needy in India. She loves to create with her hands; she crochets, makes mala or prayer beads and jewelery, enjoys needlework and journaling, and paints with acrylic. She loves to sing. Patty has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
Member-At-Large - Dawne Briglio
Dawne Briglio is a Member at Large of the Unity of London Board.
She is a liaison and member of the Community Outreach Team and a member of the Unity Kitchen Angles Grou. She is involved with the Unity of London Greeters.
She is currently training to join the Unity of London Prayer Chaplains.
Member-At-Large - Sylvia van der Hoek
$ylvia had been a member at Unity of London since February 2012. This is her 6th year as a board member and is starting her 7th year as a Prayer Chaplain.
In her professional life, $ylvia helps self-employed individuals protect their income.
